I’ve created a variety of products, videos, and printables that are easy to do at home. The printables illustrate calming breaths, yoga sequences tied to popular children’s stories, holiday and seasonal related yoga sequences, and sequences focused on social skills and making friends. Short videos demonstrate both calming techniques and yoga sequences. All are designed for children of various ages and abilities.

Many of the techniques and strategies are ones that I used during my 16 years of teaching students on the Autism Spectrum. Some are newer strategies I learned and developed as a children’s yoga teacher and wished I had when I was in the classroom with students who had high anxiety and low coping skills or social skills. I have taught these sequences and strategies to families and children in libraries and community centers, in classrooms, in after-school programs, pre-schools, at community festivals, on-line to teachers and NOW I AM BRINGING THEM TO YOU! RIGHT TO YOUR LIVING ROOM….OR BEDROOM, PORCH, OR WHEREVER YOU LIKE TO PLAY AND LEARN WITH YOUR CHILDREN.

Yoga, when used as a brain break, gives children the ability to physically move around, expend some energy, as well as calm and activate the brain to increase focus. It also teaches mindfulness and allows children to notice their feelings in the moment, without labeling those feelings as good or bad.

Ommazing Kids printables and videos serve as great brain breaks and offer children more tools for their “tool box” to self-regulate. calm and relax when needed. Many of the calming breaths help students manage BIG feeling, increase focus by increasing oxygen to the brain, and help decrease tension and stress in children’s body and brain. The yoga brain breaks provide physical movement while connecting it to learning. Those tied to literature help increase comprehension, especially for kinesthetic learners. The poses help to strengthen muscles, improve balance, aid in digestion, and so many more benefits!
